The Tailored Co is a fashion technology company that provides AI-powered measurement and automation tools for online apparel retailers.
The company fills the gap between physical garments and digital retail experience with the help of digital garment measuring technology. You just need to take a snap of a cloth image and receive accurate measurements in real-time.
The Challenge
The challenge was to develop an automated cloth measuring system to reduce human involvement to record measurements. Further, to create a measuring app to automate garment measuring and data entry tasks.
The second challenge was to develop an API that works like a digital bridge connecting raw factory production to design rooms and retail storefronts for big clothing manufacturers and global fashion brands.

The Solution
We partnered with TheTailored Co to provide a software solution designed to automate garment measurement using computer vision and AI.
The goal was to build a Capture API. Brands can integrate the Capture API to create interactive "Scan Your Own Clothes" widgets directly on product pages. Instead of guessing their size against a confusing generic chart, a shopper can snap a quick photo of a well-fitting apparel they already own.
The aim of the solution was to reduce return rates, eliminate manual labor, and promote sustainability in the circular clothing economy.
The process of engineering our garment analysis framework included the following steps:
- Develop a photo-based application available for both iOS and Android.
- Develop a Web Dashboard to review all photos, manage your account, edit measurements, download reports, and more.
- Develop a Capture API i.e. backend service allowing businesses to embed Tailored's automated garment-measuring artificial intelligence directly into their own websites, applications, or internal warehouse software.
The Results
After endless amounts of testing to prove the viability of the solution, “Capture App” and “Capture API” were developed successfully.
The technology enabled precise pattern placement and cutting, reducing fabric waste and optimizing material utilization.
